BOM SPECIALIST

The Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining Part
Numbers and Bills of Materials to support order management, manufacturing, material
requirements and costs. This position must maintain accurate and timely records to meet
production requirements.
 
Job Responsibilities:
•Strong Knowledge of BOM (Bills of Materials)
•Responsible for reviewing Bills of Materials and maintaining existing Bills of Materials
•Will utilize technical knowledge to prepare bills of material for quotations.
•Create, modify, maintain complete accuracy of the Bill of Materials . Perform special cost
analysis, prepare reports, and other related duties as assigned.
•Able to Interpret customer requirements, match products to customer
specifications/drawings and ensure the quote is compatible and competitive.
•Able to communicate efficiently with Sales, Engineering, Production Manager and
Purchasing to determine/clarify project requirements. to ensure that the BOM has the
correct structure as well as the correct components and quantities to determine/clarify
project requirements. Gather, create and develop quotations from material takeoff from
engineered plans
•Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and
feedback of customer needs, products, competition, and processes
•Determines and suggests suitable substitute products wherever possible.
•Download required specs, plans take -off, etc.
•Experience with drawings, sketches, drafting
•Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
•Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.
 
Qualifications Preferred :
•Associate or Bachelors in Draft Design or Engineering
•No certifications required but helpful
•Fabrication shop knowledge
•Be self -reliant and able to operate independently.
•Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed
•Detail oriented
•Able to work in stressful situations and with critical deadlines
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Knowledge of and ability to read and understand blueprints, codes, scales and specs
•Team oriented
•Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook
•Basic math abilities
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 1+ years on the
job experience, trade school or a college degree in CAD related field.
•Must meet background check and drug test requirements.
 
HOURS: MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 8:00AM TO 5:00PM
 
PAY RATE :  $22.00 TO $ 26.00 AN HOUR
